Thurlow Nunn Partners with Jigcar to Optimise Vehicle Movements

Rupert Wood

Thurlow Nunn has appointed Jigcar to streamline and optimise retail vehicle movements across its 15-showroom network. The move follows the completion of a successful three-month pilot which identified significant cost per mile and efficiency improvements for the top 100 dealer group, which operates in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire and
Buckinghamshire.

Powered by AI technology, Jigcar’s purpose-built optimisation intelligently pairs up vehicle movements to reduce wasteful empty mileage journeys. The tech also helps minimise duplicated journeys through smarter scheduling.

Elliott Perks, CEO of Jigcar, said the partnership has already seen a significant increase in the number of monthly paired vehicle movements being achieved by Thurlow Nunn.

“An issue common to many dealer groups is the use of one driver to move a vehicle from A to B and another from B to A, meaning they cross each other on the road and then use public transport to get back.

“What we’re doing with Thurlow Nunn is matching those movements up, so one driver does both movements: saving hourly wages and eliminating public transport costs,” said Perks.

Simon Gylls, Director of Thurlow Nunn, said:

“Working with Jigcar is like having an on-demand automotive logistics expert. The platform delivers real-time intelligence on our network, but it’s also backed by real people who add depth to the data and offer expert advice on how to improve our logistics set-up.

“We’re already seeing tangible efficiencies and now have much better visibility into our logistics performance,” he said.

The next phase of the partnership will see Jigcar rolling out a new wave of driver management and movement software to further enhance operational performance across the group.
